Frank Field MP today publishes details of Feeding
Birkenhead’s programme of free meals and activities for children during the
Spring Break.
Now in its third year of operation, the programme will
deliver more than 60 sessions across the town to ensure children are able to
eat well and remain active over the school holiday. 350 children attended the
Feeding Birkenhead sessions that were delivered during the short February half
term.
Commenting on the Spring Break timetable, Frank said:
‘Feeding Birkenhead has set a blueprint for the rest of the country to follow,
by ensuring as many children as possible, regardless of their circumstances,
are able to enjoy the school holidays and not have to go without food or
memorable activities. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the volunteers and
community workers who, time and again, provide this service with such
dedication for many hundreds of children across the town.’
