Please vote for the Williamson

14
May

May I please start by thanking the voters of Birkenhead for returning me again as your Member of Parliament?

I am privileged to serve our town and I will continue to fight for a fair deal in the five difficult years ahead under the newly-elected Tory Government.

My surgeries will continue as usual, at 5pm on the second, fourth and fifth Friday of each month (except August) at Birkenhead Town Hall and all of my contact details are on www.frankfield.co.uk. I aim to reply to Birkenhead residents within a day of receiving correspondence.

I am asking, in this first column since the election, whether again you might consider lending your vote, but this time in support of our Williamson Museum and Art Gallery.

The Williamson is competing for the chance to host a major exhibition in October. It would, if successful, be turned into an enchanted garden animation with a narrative developed by you, the visitors, and the Gallery’s staff.

This two-day exhibition would run over October 30 and 31 and would include a wonderful marble statue, ‘Pauline’, who oversees such exhibitions across the country.

Wouldn’t it be a wonderful treat for families during the half-term break to enjoy and play their part in such a spectacle?

But it faces some stiff competition from around the country.

Might you therefore consider casting your vote at bit.ly/mcguires to ensure the Williamson gets the chance to host the exhibition?

Voting is open until 8pm on Saturday, May 16.
